CyclonaDesigns bike cog pendantWhen I discovered CyclonaDesigns on etsy, I had an incredibly difficult time deciding which pieces to feature.  I come from a family that is crazy about biking.  I am blessed because even my 66 year old mother-in-law is a bike fanatic (Eventhough she recently gave up racing mountain bikes and teaching clinics for women about riding, she still rides long, hard rides multiple times a week.)  I was instantly drawn to the pieces crafted from recycled bike parts that the artist at CyclonaDesigns has created.

I can see my very hip and stylish mother-in-law wearing this pendant made of a recycled bike cog.  I love details of the delicate silver wires that spiral into the pinkish glass bead.  I also love that the artist uses recycled silver to make the bale for the pendant.

CyclonaDesigns belt buckleThis creative artist also crafts beautiful belt buckles from old bicycle parts.  One of my favorite buckles features the front badge from an old stripped down bike the artist found on the side of the road.   She bent the badge to match the lines of a curved oval belt buckle and joined the two with an epoxy resin.   And if you are in need of a belt to go with your new buckle, CyclonaDesigns creates sized to order belts made from recycled bike inner tubes.

This talented Canadian artist is an avid rider who also participates in a bicycle dance troupe called the Velo Vixens.  When not creating this gorgeous jewelry in her home workshop, she is mountain biking and cruising the city streets of Victoria.  Visit her etsy shop to see all the fabulous pieces she has created.
